i had collected this story in hindi called क़त्ल की रात during my middle school days ,did not realize that कातिल जैक was a real life character JACK THE RIPPER who had created havoc in London's east end killing at least 5 prostitutes and was never caught . some suspected he was working on orders of royal family one of whose members had an illegitimate child with a prostitute ,from the manner of his dismembering the victims in a precise surgical manner it was widely believed that killer was an expert surgeon ,dr. kaversham in this story seems to have been based more on character of dr. jekyl from robert louie stevenson's novel "dr. jakyll and mr hyde"
Patricia corn well wrote a novel some time back on the subject and reached a conclusion that jack the ripper was a painter called siket who may have committed many more murders
