the trapped tishian consort of princess moya
[garth! Where are they taking us? Asks a frightened princess
moya.
‘Towards a huge web. Moya!-answers Garth
WEB OF DIONARA-
They are the people from the skies.. they are as ugly as the
tree dwellers. they have even got feet!
Garth[thinking to himself] now I can imagine how housefly
must be feeling[in this situation]
Dionara drags the tishians on his web-
Moya- garth,it is horrible!
Garth- our turn next! If only I could break this webbing!
Moya- garth these spider creature don’t stick to their own web,
they must be having some kind of lubricant!
Garth- you are right moya , there is a thin oily film
covering their bodies ,that raised protuberance near their neck could be the
secretary gland
Garth makes a huge effort to use his great powers
Moya- there is no hope now

Garth- courage! Moya[panting] I I have almost succeeded in
freeing one arm.
Garth squeezes the gland on spider creature’s neck
An oily fluid falls from the secretary gland on the neck of
spider creature and falls on the chest of garth and the web quickly slips off
the body of garth’
Garth -I am free moya!
Protected by secretions of spider people Garth escapes to
safety from their webbings---
Dionara-[shouting]]-fools! Cut off his escape route and keep
him away from the trees
They have come very close to me from behind….
I I am nearing the trees and spider people have stopped
following me …I wonder why?
Garth and moya hve escaped the spiderpeople and are hiding
beneath dense overhanging branches of the trees—
Garth-We have escaped
them, they will not follow us here..
Moya- why will the not?
Garth—removing the webbings from the body of moya—‘there are
still enough secretions to remove the
web
Moya- uff..now our life is spared.
Garth[addressing moya after freeing her from web is being
watched by tree people]-- now if we could somehow save your friends from the
web of dionara.

Moya[alarmed at looking at a wild man emerging from the
trees-‘Garth look
Garth – he probably only wants to speak to us
Man-come let me take you to our camp
Garth-moya,let us go with him, at least he is human ,maybe
his people will be able to help us
Garth[questioning the wild man]- shall we cross this open
ground running swiftly
Wild man-no, going in the open is sure death.
Garth- but why...there are no spiders people here
Man- threat is not exclusively from them only
In the camp of arboreal tree people-
Sylvan! They have escaped from dionara
Sylvan- not many people have succeeded in doing that, how
did they do it?
Garth tells sylvan- spider people’s body secretes a fluid
which dissolves their webbing
Oh, we have a better way juice from olyx trees
Garth –then why you keep yourself hidden I the trees, spider people are helpless without their webs
Sylvan –reason why? Look
at that up above in the sky!
Oh god the wingspan of that bird must be at least 80 feet
‘it is called a”TORK!”’

A wid animal comes out in to open plains---
In flash giant bird TORK
swoops down on to it and grabbing it in it’s hyge claws lifts it up in
the sky…
Garth – TORK has carried it away…but why do they not attack
the spider creatures?
Sylvan-diorara’s web is strong even for the bird of the size
of torks
Garth- en it seems
that this is a big mess, you keep
yourself hidden it the trees to escape both from the spider creatures and these
huge birds. Spider creatures keep their distance from the trees to save
themselves from your weapon of olyx tree juices.
Sylvan- that is true garth.
Garth- do you want to continue living like hunted animals?
Sylvan-no Garth show us the way and we will follow you.
Moya- Garth what will
happen to my three companions caught on dionara’s web?
Sylvan- they will not die immediately.dionara doesn’t kill instantaneously.
They will die a slow agonizing death.
Garth- sylvan give some olyx tree juices and I will go and
free them.
Sylvan- no Garth there is death beyond the trees, torks are
lying in wait out there.
Garth- we can evade tork birds by attacking the spider
creatures at night.
Sylvan-night? Garth! What is night?
Garth – when the sun goes down and there is darkness
everywhere!
Sylvan – but the sun never sets here!
Garth – never sets? You mean you have daylight continuously
without any night fall?
