I grew up on these Enid Blyton books. The Famous Five, The Secret Seven and another group of 5 (I forget the name), were books which we could buy and keep during those days.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish we could go back to those days without cable TV, cell phone and all. Reading books with no disturbance is a bliss by itself. (of course I am kidding!)
no, no kidding, ithink you are echoing my own thoughts, i remember my childhood days when reading books was the only pleasure we could have during our 2 month long summer vacations, we would like to buy comics by indrajal which used to cost only 60 paisa ,and we were restrained by our parents,probably being an ordinary bank clerk prevented my father from letting me indulge in such hobbies,however later on he himself would bring us comics of batman superman whenever he would go to bombay on official work.god bless his soul for bringing us up in environment where there were no restrictions on reding good literature,though he had his reservations on comic books.
